Experience the unparalleled beauty of the Alsek Valley, a hidden gem within Kluane National Park. Our 4×4 adventure takes you on a journey through a pristine wilderness where time seems to stand still. Discover secluded valleys, navigate the braided channels of glacial rivers, and witness breathtaking mountain vistas, all from the comfort of our rugged 4×4 Jeep – or similar – vehicle. Please be prepared for a bumpy ride, as this old mining road is unpaved and rough in sections.
Our off-road* tours typically begin in August, when the landscape transforms into a tapestry of vibrant autumn colors. This is also when we have found, over the years, that access is most favorable. The light during the earlier and later hours of the day is particularly enchanting, offering prime opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing. That said, the valley is stunning at all times of day. If you wish to visit earlier in the season, please contact us. We’ll gladly assess conditions and discuss the possibilities.
*Off-Road does not mean “Off-Trail”. We always follow dirt roads or unpaved roads that are legal for vehicles. We will not go off-trail as it destroys vegetation and leaves irreparable damage to the ecosystem.

Hike & Explore (4-8 hours): Enhance your 4×4 tour with a guided hike tailored to your interests and abilities. Explore hidden trails, venture off the beaten path, and immerse yourself in the valley’s tranquility.
What to Expect:
A Landscape Shaped by Time: Discover a wilderness sculpted by glaciers, where braided rivers carve their way through untouched valleys.
Hidden Gems: Follow the path of creeks, explore the ever-changing riverbeds carved by glacial meltwater, and witness the fascinating formations of alluvial fans, including the active Thunderegg Creek fan.
Wildlife Sightings: The Alsek Valley is home to a variety of wildlife. Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to see Dall sheep, moose, grizzly and black bears, lynx, wolves, geese, and more. It’s important to remember that wildlife sightings are never guaranteed. Your experienced guide will help you look for signs of animals while always respecting their space and prioritizing their well-being, as well as your safety.
